What applies, and where it comes from

Businesses need adequate procedures against pests, and domestic animals are not allowed in (Regulation 852/2004). Windows to the outside are fitted with insect screens where necessary. Waste leaves the work rooms as quickly as possible, in containers that can be closed. In Austria, the WKO recommends documenting pest monitoring at least every three months.

The premises are designed so that pests can be controlled. There are adequate procedures against pests, and domestic animals have no access to the rooms.12

Windows that open to the outside are fitted, where necessary, with insect screens that can easily be removed for cleaning.3

Waste leaves the rooms where food is handled as quickly as possible. It is collected in containers that can be closed, and waste stores are kept clean and free of pests.456

AT — applies in AustriaThe Austrian Economic Chamber (WKO) recommends documenting pest monitoring at least every three months, more often in case of infestation, with a control and trap plan. For cockroaches, rats or pharaoh ants, a specialist company is called in.7
